BIO.

Kassidy Linabery is a visual artist who lives and works in Denver, CO. Working primarily in printmaking and painting, by using abstraction and repeated graphic motifs, her work explores nostalgic imagery from her family’s cattle ranch.

I am interested in expressive mark-making and layering imagery nostalgic from my childhood on a beef cattle ranch. I utilize printmaking, painting, collage, and other media, while also drawing upon my experience as a graphic designer. The work is a collection of appropriated images and text that I manipulate to create new meaning. I am also fascinated with traditional religious imagery and themes, using them to define my own spirituality, featuring the cow as the main holy icon throughout the pieces. The relationship between rural culture and larger American traditions, as well as the duality of my upbringing and the urban environment in which I now reside, are also driving themes behind my work.
